Lindores Abbey Lowland Single Malt
An exciting mix of various types of casks, this makes for the very first release from the distillery of Lindores Abbey. It was matured on bourbon-, sherry- and wine casks, respectively.
Lindores Abbey Lowland Single Malt (bottled 2021), 46% is mild on the nose, having adopted the traits of all three casks. A mild scent of citrus fruits, vanilla, dried fruits and blackberries.
This Lindores is a young whisky full of taste! The experiance is a continuation of the scent: a meeting with citrus fruits, vanilla and spices. An EXCITING new whisky that sparks our interest in this new distillery.
The origins regarding the historical site of Lindores Abbey, however, is a centuries-old tale. It was in this location that the very first account of Scottish whisky production is recorded. The former king sent a request for “Eight bolls of malt to Friar John Cor wherewith to make aqua vitae“. John Cor was a monk residing in Lindores Abbey
