Pluscarden (Miltonduff) 21 yo (1994/2015) Silver Seal, better known as Miltonduff, is 21 years old and thus distilled in 1994. Few people know about Miltonduff, which is actually one of the oldest distilleries in Scotland. Miltonduff was originally an illegal “farm distiller” called Milton, then added “Duff” when it obtained its license in 1824.

As a distillery that has mostly supplied whiskey to major brands, official bottlings of Miltonduff have been rare to non-existent. However, there are a number of independent bottlers who have released various expressions in recent years, including this Silver Seal bottling.

Whiskey writer Michael Jackson describes the Miltonduff style as floral, clean, firm and elegant. With 45.7% alcohol, there is only 356 bottles from this single cask whisky.
