Chairman’s Reserve Limited Edition 1931

Chairman’s Reserve Limited Edition 1931 is a golden rum aged up to 11 years in bourbon and port casks. The rum is more complex, and is first experienced as sweet followed by dry taste notes. The rum also received double gold and the award as “Spirit of the Year” in 2018 at the World Spirit Awards.

The rum is a blend of rum distillates from Coffey and pot stills aged in bourbon and port casks from 6 to 11 years, which gives the rum its complexity. The majority of the blend for the 1931 bottle comes from traditional sugar cane molasses, while the hidden spice in the rum is due to the inclusion of “Rhum Agricolle”, which is produced from fresh sugar cane from the distillery’s surrounding sugar cane fields.

A beautiful rum with a golden color and a subtle bronze hue. The character of the rum is highlighted by the expressive aromas of raisins and vivid notes of oak, followed by hints of leather, spice and tobacco. A well-balanced structure gives flavors of the fruity sultana fruit with hints of creamy and buttery caramel. A hint of grassy notes and aromatic sweetness from the sugarcane gives a unique, hedonistic but balanced element to the finish.

Recommended to be enjoyed “neat”, but can also be used in sophisticated cocktails, where the rum plays “first violin”.

This room is St. Lucia Distillers’ most complex rum, a tribute to the rum philosophy and craftsmanship established by Chairman’s Reserve founder Denis Barnard when he established his distillery in 1931, which today has become one of Saint Lucia’s most cherished treasures, namely St. Lucia Distillers.
