Introduction

Fortaleza Blanco is the revival of tequila production’s proud traditions, created by Guillermo Sauza as a tribute to his great-grandfather’s original production methods from the 19th century.

Production Method

• Ingredients: 100% blue Weber agave, grown in the red volcanic soil of Tequila Valley, Jalisco, Mexico
• Distillation Process: Agave hearts are baked in traditional brick ovens, crushed with a tahona stone (volcanic stone mill), and fermented in open wooden vats with natural yeast
• Aging: Unaged (blanco) tequila, bottled directly after distillation to preserve the pure agave notes
• Special Techniques: Double-distilled in small copper pots and each bottle is traditionally sealed with a handmade wax cap

Tasting Notes

• Aroma: Fresh citrus notes, green olive, minerality and pure agave aromas with hints of pepper
• Taste: Pronounced agave sweetness, followed by olive oil, citrus, mint notes and an elegant balance between sweetness and spices
• Finish: Long, pleasant and mineral with persistent agave character and a subtle peppery finish
