Production Method
- Ingredients: Crafted from award-winning Scottish barley grown in close connection with the distillery’s agricultural roots in Ayrshire, Scotland. The barley is malted, fermented, and distilled on-site at the distillery.
- Distillation Process: Traditional single malt distillation in copper pot stills at Lochlea Distillery, ensuring a clean and characterful new make spirit.
- Maturation: The whisky is matured in a combination of three different cask types: ex-bourbon casks, STR casks (shaved, toasted, recharred), and ex-port casks, contributing to a rich and layered flavour profile.
- Special Techniques: STR casks (shaved, toasted, recharred) involve a specialised technique in which the cask is first scraped, then toasted, and finally recharred on the inside, promoting the release of complex flavour compounds. The triple-cask maturation ensures an exceptional depth and complexity in the finished whisky.

- Nose: Rich and inviting with notes of ripe stone fruit, vanilla, and caramel from the ex-bourbon casks, complemented by plums and raisins from the ex-port casks, along with a lightly spiced, toasted oak note from the STR casks.
- Palate: Full-bodied and complex with a sweet fruitiness of cherries and plums, balanced by warm spices such as cinnamon and ginger, cream, and soft vanilla tones, alongside a subtle hint of dried fruits and dark chocolate.
