Production Method

• Ingredients: Scottish barley grown in accordance with Lochlea’s own farming principles, reflecting the distillery’s close connection to the surrounding agricultural landscape of Ayrshire
• Distillation process: Traditional copper pot still distillation at Lochlea Distillery, aiming for a fruity and floral new make spirit with a distinct character
• Maturation: Matured exclusively in 1st fill ex-Bourbon casks positioned at a higher level in Warehouse #1 than those used for its predecessor – a placement that delivers higher temperatures, faster maturation and a more intense interaction between spirit and wood
• Special techniques: An additional six months of maturation compared to the 2022 release, and a deliberate selection of casks from a specific warehouse tier to demonstrate how the microclimate within the same warehouse can significantly influence the finished product

• Nose: Fresh vanilla and soft caramel notes from the ex-Bourbon casks, supported by ripe fruit, floral character and a hint of honey and light baked goods
